As a part time streamer from December 2019, I have compiled insights on how to increase your followers (real followers) on Facebook. I have grown the page to a measly 100 follower page to a 500+ solid following in only 5 weeks time. Real interaction with people who watch my streams.
1. Decent Voice input device.
I have noticed that not having a decent microphone throws people off immediately. I have learned the hard way by not checking if my voice was clearly heard before going live. I just went live using my computer's microphone not thinking about the quality thinking it would really go well, it didn't.
I am not saying that you get a very expensive microphone, what I'm saying is to get a decent voice input device that will not make you sound muffled/drowning in pillows.
If you get comments like I can't hear you, I don't understand what you're saying, then you are in a bad spot.
2. Not doing F4F/Sub4Sub
If your main goal is to just increase the like of the page then you are just increasing the number but not the growth of the page. I have tried the approach and have been very disappointed by these so called (support each other streamers). They will ask you to like and follow them and they'll do it in return, this works for a few days until they get back and unfollow you.
There is no real growth, you can have 5000 followers from F4F's and not one will really give a damn.
3. Web Cam
If you are not the best at the game you are playing and you're planning to stream without a camera, I'm telling you right now that it's not a good idea.
No one knows who you are yet, personally , If i see a live video without a webcam, I immediately ignore it. I know that our appearance can make us conscious and insecure at times but if you wont have a webcam, there's no way your viewers would know the expressions you make. Our appearance and expressions make us unique from other streamers.
4. Sharing your streams
I know that sometimes it hurts our pride to share our own streams, if you do not have a great following, you might as well do so. The best strategy is to share your streams to groups that has relatable content. A quick example would be if you are playing Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, share it to groups that are about mobile legends.
Do not share to groups that are not related with your content. Do not be a spammy whammy.
5. Be Engaged
By being engaged, I urge you to be spontaneous, do not sound idle, this skill should be learned by talking as if you are describing the game that you are playing. As I have said to my recent points, you do not have to be a pro, you just need to be engaged with your viewers.
A quick example would be saying thanks to your viewers if they shared your stream, thanking them for liking and acknowledging their comments. I personally love streamers that responds to comments religiously. some streamers tend to be snobbish and that's an immediate pass for me.
You will see some streamers streaming from the camera of their phones but still have great following!
Engagement is key to the path of streaming.
6. Showing real support to other streamers.
By showing real support to other streamers, they will take notice and sure act up on it. some streamers would definitely give a free shoutout to our page and will even send their viewers. It's all about how supportive you are with other people. How can you expect people to support people if you are not supportive as well.
give kindness in return to receive kindness, ever believe in good Karma?
7. POST DAILY/CONSISTENCY
Posting daily helps Facebook determine that you are alive and well and the page is active, nothing too fancy for this analysis. Going live once a day may help if you are starting out, it gives you online presence.
be a dear and drop a follow and like on the page <3
